Under the direction of Mr. Darryl Izzard, the Benedict College Gospel Choir (BCGC) is recognized as one of the best collegiate gospel choirs in the country. Achievements include two wins at the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation’s Gospel Choir Competition and a five-time championship at the Black Music Caucus’ National Collegiate Gospel Choir Competition. In addition, the BCGC has:
- visited the Vatican in Rome three times to perform for the Pope
toured extensively throughout Ghana, West Africa; Caracas, Venezuela; and Bogota, Colombia - performed, as a featured holiday guest, for the Prince and Princess of Monaco, His Serene Highness Albert II and Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline
appeared on BET’s and The Word Network’s Bobby Jones Gospel Presents
